What would the centennial be without its own Babcock ice cream? In honor of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health’s 100th anniversary, we’re looking to our students, faculty, staff and alumni to create and name a specialty ice cream flavor.
The centennial ice cream will be featured at a special ice cream social for students and at several alumni events in May, and in July at the Dean’s annual ice cream social for faculty and staff. The specialty flavor of ice cream will also be sold at UW Hospital’s Mendota Market over the summer.
Dean Golden along with a panel of judges comprised of faculty, staff and students will sample six of the suggested ice cream flavors and select the winner in early March. The winner will receive a gift basket filled with centennial merchandise and ice cream related goodies, along with a quart of the specialty ice cream. The six runners up will receive a quart of the centennial ice cream, and all who submit an entry will be included in a drawing to win one of ten quarts of the specialty flavor.
Become a part of the UWSMPH legacy – create and name your own centennial ice cream flavor! Deadline to enter: Friday, February 8, 2008.
